Falkirk Orators have their first Competent Communicator.
Colin McGregor achieved the award after completing his tenth prepared speech, and will now start work on his Advanced Communicator speeches.
Colin’s speech which required him to inspire his audience, was called ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger’, the motto of the Olympic Games. It drew on his personal experiences of how sportsmen, some famous, some not so, had inspired him in his actions, beliefs and behaviours.
His speech was evaluated by District Governor Anthony Day who was visiting the Club for the first time.
Sheila Fraser was Toastmaster for the evening while Robert McGreachan ran the Table Topics session of impromptu speeches with a theme based on the TV series ‘Call My Bluff’ which produced several very creative responses.
The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7pm at the Falkirk and District Association for Mental Health offices, the Victoria Centre, 173 Victoria Road, Falkirk FK2 7AU.
