Clyde Comm 2Clyde Communicators, set up in January 2016, evolved from Glasgow Toastmasters whose incredible popularity made it difficult even for established and experienced members to deliver their speeches.

The purpose of Clyde Communicators is to continue the already high standards set by both Toastmasters International and Glasgow Toastmasters.

This new club is for anyone in the Glasgow area and beyond whose goal is to no longer feel the fear that may have plagued them for most, if not all, of their adult life.

The club doesn’t discriminate based on ability or purpose. It quite literally is for anyone (18 years old and over)!

Clyde CommIf you want to run for political office one day, teach a classroom of rowdy schoolkids or even just shed a reputation for being quiet and timid, all people receive the same benefits and adapt them to their own individual needs at a Toastmasters club. Indeed, many people who go to Clyde Communicators will never stand on a podium or stage.

Instead, you will see them become more confident and assured in their day-to-day interactions with friends, co-workers and bosses; witness their eagerness to ask questions and contribute meaningfully to meetings, presentations and seminars; you will see the red face, stuttering, breathlessness and blank gaze go – the list goes on.
It will take time however. Rome, as they say, wasn’t built in a day. It could take 5, 10, 20 speeches before you feel completely comfortable speaking in front of others. Or it may take only one. Again, it really depends on the individual.

But is it not worthwhile to say that you tried? That you looked one of humanity’s greatest fears in the face and tackled it head on?

Clyde Communicators and Toastmasters can only give you the tools and the platform to succeed. You must make it a reality yourself! The potential benefits of doing so are endless.

Clyde Communicators is a Toastmasters-affiliated public speaking club based in Glasgow City Centre. The club meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Jurys Inn Hotel, 80 Jamaica Street, G1 4QG . For more information about the club go to
